We have a LaserJet 5500 in which a part is broken, no description or part number being available in service manual. It shows the part in figure 8-11 of the service manual, but no further information is provided, i.e. description or part number. It is a small plastic piece and is depicted in figure 8-11, being the part directly below the #5 sub-assembly. Can anyone please help? I have made phone calls in attempt to find a solution but nobody has been able to answer my question at this time. T

There are some parts that are just not available period. I work for an HP service partner and I have had HP contact me trying to find some of these unlisted parts. Your best bet is to try and find a dead unit you can buy for parts, or check with a local service center if they happen to have a 5500 sitting derelict that they will canibalize a part off of.
