Ok, listen here "techabhishek"... u r the expert, im the noob!!! this is why i love to hate people like u! Stephenhop, dude, i fix the problem... do this: 1- Get the document u want to print opened on MS Word or just open up MS Word. 2- Go to File, then Print. (not Page Setup). 3- On the top right corner, select Properties. 4- Select the second tab labeled Advanced. 5- Bottom left corner of the window, select More Options. 6- Unclick "Use color cartridge for all black printing". 7- Click on "Use black cartridge to print in black and white". 8- Close all windows by selecting the "OK" button. Should be three windows. 9- If u can, please slap the hell out of the expert who would have u mess with the drivers of the printer instead of doin a little reasearch on the options themselves aka DOIN HIS JOB. 10- Its always better to wait a little longer for a noob (newbie) to take it upon him/herself to FIND the right answer.
It looks like a problem with the Printer application. Try uninstalling the printer drivers using the utility http://ftp.us.dell.com/printer/R166248.zip .Then install the drivers from the support website. Use the link: http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&ServiceTag=&SystemID=PRN_ALL_A924&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=Good Luck!~Abhishek
