My hp deskjet 5550 stopped working with my laptop. It still works with my other PC. So, the problem is printer installation. The hp driver scan says the driver is not installed. I have downloaded the driver from hp and installed, but it gets an error: may not work properly. On the internet I see advice saying the registry is corrupted and can't be fixed by just downloading the driver. Is this correct? If so, how do I proceed? I don't know how to edit the registry and I'm afraid to try.
